iAPS Art Competition 2024

Pippa won 1st Prize in the Years 7-8 category of the iAPS Art Competition with her deeply personal piece titled ‘What Colour Are You?’. This is a fantastic achievement and is the second year in a row that a Brambletye pupil has won the national competition. 

iAPS said this year’s competition theme, “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together,” inspired a wide range of interpretations, and Pippa’s work stood out among 120 entries spanning various mediums, including paintings, drawings, mixed media, and sculptures.

IAPS Swimming Success

We are thrilled to celebrate Joe’s outstanding achievements at the IAPS Swimming Finals held at the iconic London Aquatics Centre in the Olympic Park, where he secured a bronze medal with a 3rd place overall finish! Joe’s hard work, dedication, and passion for swimming truly paid off.

Archie Wins 'Fundraiser of the Year' at the Child of Sussex Awards

We’re very proud to share that Archie has been named ‘Fundraiser of the Year’ at the Child of Sussex Awards on June 28th after a very successful year raising £2,000 for the NHS, nearly £600 for the Huracan Foundation and £1,000 for Hope and Homes for Children.

Charity Fundraising - Family2Family

This year, we are extremely proud that the combined efforts of our pupils and staff at Brambletye have raised over £30,000 for our 2023/24 chosen charity, Family2Family. Scholarships 2023/2024

Many congratulations to our 17 scholars, who collectively achieved 20 awards; 2 Academic, 1 All Rounder, 8 Art, 3 Drama, 2 Music and 4 Sport.  This brings the total number of scholarship awards won by Brambletye pupils to 141 in the last 7 years! The senior schools our Scholars move onto include Ardingly, Bryanston, Eastbourne College, Hurst, Lancing College, Mayfield, Oundle, Uppingham, Winchester and Worth.

My Fair Lady

2023 saw the return of our senior musical production as year 7 & 8 performed My Fair Lady to raving reviews. As one parent said ‘It was nothing short of brilliant’.

Art Scholars

2023 had 8 art scholars awarded to a variety of different senior schools which included Uppingham, Tonbridge, Bedes, Charterhouse and Eastbourne College.

Distinction in ARSM Diploma Exam for Violin

 
Tina achieved a Distinction for an ABRSM diploma, which is beyond Grade 8, on the violin.

 

 

 

 

 

Brambletye Award - Co-Curricular

Brambletye saw a huge success on the co-curricular front last year through the Brambletye Award. Special mentions go to – 

Luca who received a silver certificate for performing in a number of public speaking events including performing in front of large audiences as well as making a considerable amount of money for the school’s charity.

Wilbur who received a silver certificate for his 4 day trek around the Peak District as well as raising over £600 as part of the scouts to raise money for charity.

Annabelle who received a silver certificate for an exceptional array of cultural components and sporting achievements, as well as raising money for charity by taking part in a number of triathlons.

Archie who received a silver certificate for an incredible range of activities including 2 Drama productions in the West End and raising over £1000 for the school charity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maths Success

In 2023 Brambletye entered 3 maths competitions: 
 
In the 2023 Primary maths challenge for years 5 and 6 Brambletye managed 18 bronze award winners, 21 silver award winners, and 4 gold awards of which 3 have qualified for the Bonus round. 
 
Our Year 8 and 7 students, plus some Year 6 students were entered into the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge with 18 students earning a bronze, 18 earning a silver and Bella and Tina earning a gold award. 
 
Some of our top students also took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge (designed for students up to Year 11). Despite being very challenging, 8 students earned a bronze award, 5 a silver award and Tina earned a Gold and qualified for the Grey Kangaroo round in which she narrowly missed out on a merit.
